Parish Staff Changes

06-26-2016Weekly ReflectionFr. Chad King

Last month I wrote that John Asaro, a member of the Parish Staff, was retiring to spend more time with his family, especially his grandkids. John began working for Corpus Christi as an evening front office receptionist ten years ago and eventually worked the day shift as well. When John announced his retirement, we announced that we were hiring someone to work Monday-Thursday evenings (the office is now closed Friday evenings) and Sundays. I am happy to announce that we have hired someone; you will be introduced to her shortly.

This week, however, I'd like to focus on another member of our Parish Staff who has also worked at Corpus Christi for the past ten years, David Hinojosa. In addition to working at Corpus Christi, David has also earned different technology certifications to prepare him for a career in computer security. While I knew that at some point David would be moving forward with his career, I had not expected it to be so soon. He will be greatly missed. If you have called or come into the office in the evenings or on Sundays, you know how kind, devoted, and professional David has been. It is hard to see David go, as not only has he been such a committed employee, but has become a friend to me and has been part of the family of Corpus Christi. If you know David, please stop by the Parish Office before his last day on July 1st to say thank you and wish him well as he embarks on this new journey.

A message from David:

Hello. Many of you may already know me and for those of you who may not, I was the gentleman that has been working the evening shift in the Parish Office as well as on Sunday mornings. I have been extremely blessed to be a part of the Corpus Christi staff and have grown up at this parish. The people here are amazing and extremely supportive of each other. I am and will always be proud to call Corpus Christi "home." As Father Chad mentioned, this decision was very sudden, but after receiving my BS in IT Security along with a few other AAS degrees and a dozen certifications, I feel this would be a great start for a career in the IT field. I have prayed over this decision and spoken with family members and I have come to the conclusion that this would be the next step in my life; the next big adventure I shall embark on. This is not a "goodbye." I am sure you will still see me around as I intend to be more involved in parish activities. Please pray for me during this big change in my life as I will continue to pray for all of you.
